1. Candidates selected under this scheme will receive fellowship of Rs.10,000/- per month for a maximum period of 3 years.
Qualifications prescribed for the candidate
1. Should be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of Karnataka.
2.Should belong to Backward Classes Category-1, 2A, 3A or 3B as notified by the Government of Karnataka.
3.Should be engaged in full time Ph.D studies in the statutory universities/affiliated institutions of Karnataka.
4. Candidate seeking this facility should not be selected for monthly tuition/fellowship from Government of India / Government of Karnataka / University or any other institutions.
Educational Qualification
1.Must have obtained at least 55% marks in Master’s degree.
2.Must be registered for Ph.D studies under Research Mentorship in University/Authorized Institutions.
3.This registration must be within 2 years prior to the date of application for tuition/fellowship and must be engaged in first year Ph.D studies from the date of application.
Age Limit:- Maximum age limit of the candidate is 35 years.
1.Total Annual Family Income Limit: Category-1 – Rs.4.50 Lakh, Category-2(A), 3(A) and 3(B) – Rs.3.50 Lakh.
Employees of Central / State Government / Aided Institution / Publicly Owned Institutions are not eligible for this facility.
Only two male children of the same family are eligible for this scheme. But this restriction does not apply to women candidates.
