Under the scheme, a total of Rs.45,000/- will be deposited under the Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme of the Department of Posts for 15 years at the rate of Rs.3000/- per annum for 2 female children of every BPL family.
After completion of 21 years term, the estimated maturity amount is Rs.1.27 lakhs will be paid to the beneficiary.
After class 10 (SSLC), 50% of the amount can be withdrawn from the account under this Scheme to pursue higher Education.

Eligibility
A girl child should be born in a below poverty line family and the family should have a BPL card.
The total number of children in the family should not exceed 02 and parents should have adopted permanent family planning.
Apply within 1 year of the birth of the child and inform the Life Insurance Corporation of India following approval.Beneficiary must have passed 8th standard atleast.
Should get married only after completion of 18 years of age.
Should attend pre-school Education up to 6 years. Must be enrolled in a school recognised by the government
Must not be child labor and should not be subject to trafficking.
