Under the scheme, irrigation facilities will be provided to the agricultural lands held by the small and marginal scheduled tribe farmers, by drilling borewell, followed by installation of pump sets and accessories with due energization. The unit cost is fixed @ Rs.4.50 lakhs in respect of Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, and Tumkur Districts where the ground water table is depleted. In respect of other districts, the unit cost is Rs.3.50 lakhs. The unit cost comprises of energization cost of Rs.0.50 lakh, a Loan of Rs.0.50 lakh, and the remaining amount will be the subsidy. Where the borewell drilling is difficult in Malnad districts like Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikkamagalur, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, Open wells will be dug followed by installation of monoblock pump sets and accessories with due energization. The unit cost of Open wells is fixed @ Rs.1.50 lakhs.
