Subsidy for Chawki Rearing cost for Mysore pure breed

Benefits

• In order to encourage the Chawki rearing in the Mysore Seed Area, 50% Chawki service cost of Rs.750/- on the total cost for every 100 eggs of Rs.1500/- is provided in private Chawki rearing centres as already being given to Bivoltine eggs.

Sericulturists

Eligibility

• Must be registered in accordance with the regulations of the Central Silk Board
• Subsidy is provided only for the chawki distributed to Sericulturist of notified Mysore Seed Area by the Chawki centres.
• Building of Chawki Rearing Centre should be within the notified seed area and should only rear Mysore Pure Breed Chawki.
• Should get certified under the concerned seed officer and distribute chawki worms only after the 2nd stage to the sericulturist.

Documents to be submitted

• Receipt of purchase of Chawki by Sericulturist from the registered Chawki Rearing Centre and Bidding slip of selling the produced cocoons to the Government Cocoon Market should be submitted along with the proposal
• Xerox copy of receipt of seeds purchased from Government Grainages verified by Regional Assistant Director of Sericulture and submit it along with the proposal
• Examination of Knot disease(Pibrine) should be done as per regulation, documented and certified by the concerned Assistant Director of Sericulture.
• The owner shall record the quantity, amount, receipt number and date of the Chawki received by the rearers from the Chawki Rearing Centres every month in the distribution list and sign. It will be reviewed by the Regional Assistant Directors and will provide subsidy in compliance with regulations.
