Subsidy for Sericulturist – Mulberry Nursery

Benefits

• In order to encourage the Chawki rearing in the Mysore Seed Area, 50% Chawki service cost of Rs.750/- on the total cost for every 100 eggs of Rs.1500/- is provided in private Chawki rearing centres as already being given to Bivoltine eggs.

Subsidy

• 75% concession on unit cost for general category and 90% concession on unit cost for SC/ST

To whom?

Those who own minimum of 1 acre of flat, high, fertile own/contract land with abundant irrigation facility can avail this facility.

Eligibility

• Those who own minimum of 1 acre of flat, high, fertile own/contract land with abundant irrigation facility can avail this facility.
• Land should have been inspected and approved by the Department officers.
• The soil of the identified land should be tested in the Government soil testing laboratory
• Though Mulberry saplings can be raised throughout the year, it is advisable to raise saplings three to four months before the planting season,i.e., February to April. Saplings shall be distributed for plantation by June- August.
• Saplings can be raised directly in nursery beds or in polythene bags of 23 to 25 cm height and 10 to 15 cm diameter, filled with mixture of soil, organic manure and sand.
• Improved high yielding cuttings should be used to grow saplings
• One farmer can avail facility by growing saplings in upto 1 acre of land
• 1,28,000 saplings should be grown upto 4 months in one acre of land

• A photograph of beneficiary receiving the subsidy along with the staff/officers from the Department standing in front of Kisan Nursery should be submitted
• Application in the format as prescribed by the Department, Mahajor, Recommendation/ confirmation
• Caste certificate
